It'll be interesting - I'm sure they've figured out some clever way to deal with it, but one of the biggest problems with something like this is maintaining a sense of consistency. If one thing looks great, and the rest of the world looks the same, the rest of the world looks crappy in comparison, and it becomes a lot more noticeable.

That said, WOW looks good because of its distinctive art style, and not because it pushes a gazillion polygons. Blizzard's always had an eye for targeting systems with *reasonable* specs, so it may be that as people are able to up the detail settings on their machines, they'll add a new set of levels - "ultra-high-rez" or something that ups the polycount on models and the environment, but requires you to DL a large update. Who knows?

Personally, I'd like to see a more realistic WoW. My only turn off is that I feel like I'm playing a bad Cartoon Network show. I mean, true, it's gorgeous in it's way, but ehn...Just a wee bit too cartoonish.

i agree with both of you, i would be interested to see how WoW would look in a higher rez i also play everquest and everquest 2.. which i am hooked on all 3. speaking of blizzard, i cannot wait for the New Diablo that game is going to be awsome especially with excellent graphics

How do you have time to be hooked on all three?! ;) It's like your warped time and space for that to be possible. WoW alone seems to be the ultimate time-suck.

I'm pretty psyched for Diablo 3 - I hope they bring it (I know, this is blasphemy, but so what) to consoles.

Power up for that comment. I love it when games are available on both consoles and pcs. Wider audience, especially if done right. I'm looking at YOU Team Fortress 2!
