Windows 7 Versus XP: Which Belongs On Your Netbook?

I knew this debate would come up. MS added a boatload of drivers which updated everything and basically made it faster. They then screwed it all by trying to overkill the desktop functionality. When you start pushing graphics on a netbook, it will kill your resources quick.

I don't think the netbook is going to be able to run more than the basic edition of 7 is it?

actually I have a few netbooks, have one with windows 7. works fine except for limited functionality unless you want to upgrade for at least 80 bucks to change your desktop background. their claim is this is not a limit of the OS but it is to limit resource usage on the netbook yet they load their own image up? Makes so much sense. Anyway I have one with windows xp and another with Suse 10.3. So far XP works better than windows 7 by far. I prefer the one with Suse but have a few months before warranties run out on the other two so I can add linux to them as well. Adding it now would void my warranty on the actual hardware even though all I intend is a software change. Odd but one of the ways they lock you into their junk.
