Article excerpt from nydailynews.com — "BILL: When I dropped into my local library yesterday, every computer had a high school kid perched in front of the screen. Fine, I thought (in my usual goofy, glass-is-half-full manner). Glad to see how dedicated kids are today to reading and/or researching their homework. Then I looked closer - and found they were playing violent computer...

This is a seriously problem, you know, because LIBRARIES HAVE DOOM AND GTA INSTALLED AT ALL TIMES.

Someone was clearly making something up in this article. I guess you can do browser variants, but unless we're talking about GTA 1-2 here, I call liar.

I have heard about this before for some time now. Were they have said games will make some kids do things like this. It might have some truth it, and yet it does not. GTA might get some ideas into kid’s heads, but I might be wrong but if a kid or an adult does things like this they might have had something wrong with them to being with, and it has nothing to do with the game.

Sorry about the post i am new to this site.

Actually I've seen this theory as plausible but ONLY ONCE.

That was when I played GTA for like a week straight and only ate and bathroom and the other essentials. The second I walked outside I almost jacked a car because I thought that was okay. I snapped out of it within 2 seconds though. When people bring up the idea that video games confuse reality with fiction, they need to realize this would take years of intense, non stop, Clockwork Orange esque brainwashing.

My earliest memory of videogames influencing my reality was from playing Tetris for hours when I was like 9 years old. When I went outside, all the buildings looked like Tetris pieces and I imagined what pieces should fall down in order for me to "clear" the buildings.

Yet, I did not drop giant concrete blocks on top of the buildings in an attempt to destroy them. Heh. If only I had a crane...
