This weekend's probably gonna be Castle Crashers, Rock Band, and maybe some Battlefield: Bad Company. How 'bout you? Maybe I'll get ebeast to try to play Braid. emote icon

Article excerpt from kotaku.com — "Now that I'm back form Germany - and freed from having to resort to the Crosswords app on my iPhone - I'm gonna go hogwild this Labor Day weekend. With a slew of digitally distributed games at my disposal, The Last Guy, Castle Crashers and Team Fortress 2 (with Heavy Update!),..."

Just got done with a five hour play-athon with Castle Crashers. The game is definitely fun with multiple of people; however, it could get pretty hectic with all four people on screen at once. There is a lot of small design decisions I question like foreground art blocking players or having everyone's UI present on screen versus yours only. Anyways, the game is beautiful 2d art. Okay, I have to stop typing now, must crash more castles.

Hehe, right now, helava is playing Condemned, so I can't play Braid anyway. :D But I am also installing the iPhone SDK in an attempt to learn to build some little apps, so that will have to wait even if he weren't on the 360.

I am hoping my first app will be a rickrolling app. Bwahahah.

I finished up Condemned, and started in on Condemned 2 - been too busy to play anything else, but I'd be up for some SCIV. How's Too Human?

I agree with ThanksMK. Castle Crashers is awesome barring a few terrible design choices. Charging your magic creates a huge output of particles that obscure most of the screen, especially if you are using the Skeleton. Me and my son are having a fantastic time with it. I LOVE POOP JOKES!

Too Human doesn't give you ANY story in co-op mode, which is a disappointment. Not that I need a lot of motivation to bash my way through a brawler, but why prevent me and my co-op buddy from seeing the same cutscenes that one can see in single player mode?

That and the boss battles, thus far (I've only played two), have been weak. The second boss is probably the worst boss battle design I've seen since the 8-bit era.

Interesting, re: Too Human. A friend of mine's grabbing me a copy so we can play through in multiplayer, so I suppose I'll find out in a couple weeks how it is for myself.

Instead of Castle Crashers, I ended up finishing Condemned: Criminal Origins. Yeah, the first one. Yeah, it took me three years. Still, a pretty decent game. Not great, and it's clearly a first-gen new-hardware game, but I immediately started in on Condemned 2: Bloodshot.

2's got a MUCH better forensics system - one that actually feels like you've got to pay attention, which is pretty awesome. The combat's also better - more flexible, more interesting. The only problem is that the game is *incredibly* dark. I don't mean that metaphorically - I mean it totally literally.

There are times when it's so hard to see that I literally can't play it without the brightness of the screen cranked up to the point where the blacks almost start to grey out, and even then, it's straining to see what the hell is going on. This is a huge failing, IMO, and makes me leery to pick up the game again. Which is a shame, because in every other way, it's a huge step up from the first one.
