Unfortunately, that isn't always the case

Seriously. Just as I feel games are making great strides, there is the return of the oversexualization of Lara Croft, not to mention the newly, ahem, enhanced women in the new Soul Caliber.

At the same time, the newer Crystal Dynamics version of Lara Croft is a lot more "sensible" than the older version. I don't really think that using "real life" models of Lara is a great way to go, regardless, but at least the games *are* good again. Legend and Anniversary were both entertaining (though I haven't finished Anniversary), and I'm really looking forward to Underworld.

And the new versions of Ivy and Taki in Soul Calibur? Ridiculous to the point where it substantially exceeds DOA. I'm glad that the create-a-character mode lets you make realistically proportioned women, but a number of the default characters are *ludicrous*.

It's not even a matter of getting offended for me anymore either. It's more a matter of seeming juvenile and eyeroll-worthy, which is not so hot for the reputation.

Helava is right, the new games are much better since Crystal Dynamics took it back. I have yet to finish Legends though; I just hate the vehicle missions. Those missions are such a big deterrent for me. I failed them a couple of times and stopped playing the game for 2 months...just don't have the patiences for it. The game is interesting but not enough for me to suffer through those damn bike missions. Crystal Dynamics...please take out vehicles; they suck ass!
