Wait do what now? The price is what and what is what? So the "dated" models are still the same price as they were before and this new one is the same price? If you're going to discontinue it and it isn't an antique, might as well squeeze sales out of it, right? No one is going to buy the older ones when its the same price as the new one. The awful thing is, you used to be able to say, 20 & 60GB, backwards compatible. 80GB software BC. 40GB no BC. It was confusing, but at least there were clear ways to talk about the various models.
Now, 80GB prior to September, software BC. Newer 80GB, no BC.
So, is the 80GB PS3 backwards compatible?
