Now I'm sure we all know that some, if not most, Sonic games in the past have not been all that great but this one seems to go back to it's 2-D roots but have a 3-D look to it. Some new features I read on was first Sonic being able to transform into his werewolf alter ego and since werewolves only come out at night they featured stages done in the day AND nighttime. It's possible this could be an interesting Sonic game to look into this month.

I would really like to see Sonic reemerge as a popular brand with this generation of gamers. I think many of us who have fondness for Sonic are older gamers and the younger generation hasn't seen anything impressive yet. I think, as you mention, 2-d gameplay w/ 3-d look is very current and right for the genre right now. Hopefully it'll be grea!

Actually, contrary to what a lot of older gamers think, Sonic is still *very* popular amongst young gamers. It's sad that Sonic has lost touch with the original fans, but all new fans are enjoying the games. What would be best for the franchise, though, is if Sega could build a game that could reach all audiences, like what Nintendo accomplishes with their Mario games.
