ebeast says,
File this under: "No way! I never noticed!" /sarcasm. I'd like to see more mix-ups, not just for the sake of racial and gender parity, but because seeing the same dang character over and over is really, really, really boring. Character backstories are too similar as it is, so introducing other types of differences will make it easier to introduce a bigger variety of stories as well.

Or so I think, from my armchair quarterback position. :D

I really, really do not care about this. I think its utterly retarded to ethically require every race/gender to be equally represented in everything. We already get it in movies and TV and honestly most video games are pretty much there as well so I'm not sure what this is getting at.

Is that true? Heh.

One of the comments in the article pretty much nailed it: if you want more black/latino/asian people in video games, get more black/latino/asian people in the industry (though the asian part I don't know about here, I think we've got those already).

No one said they were "requiring" racial diversity.

I find it to be simply way more interesting than the same old face and same old character over and over again. Oh noes, a story of a man, who must fight legion forces and face moral dilemmas! How many times have I seen that one before?

You know what I mean?

Right, I guess I'd rather be slapped in the face with poorly executed stereotypes... since when does race dictate how interesting a character is or the depth of a story? Hell, since when do games even have stories which are good enough to even care?
