Stop the Press! Wii Music Sells TWO Copies In Houston Today
ebeast says,
Sarcastic Gamer is not impressed with the, ahem, "popularity" of Wii Music. Is there anyone who's been to or going to a game store today who can report back on how Wii Music is selling locally? I still hope it's a better game than conventional wisdom has been saying.
Article excerpt from sarcasticgamer.com —
"On a whim, I called GameStop today, to ask how Wii Music was selling.
"I have a huge stack sitting on the counter, but so far we haven't sold a single one," said an associate at one store.
Intrigued, I called them all. Every single EB Games and GameStop in the Houston Metropolitan Area, the 4th largest city in the United...

I was walking by GameStop today, and after reading this post I thought I'd stop in and ask them if they had sold any.
The woman said it wasn't out. I raised my eyebrow and said, sure it is.
She said she'd check, because it was street dated.
When she found the game in the system, she said it had been released here, and none sold.
I thought it was pretty funny

CL, nice on-the-street reporting! I have asked around and I don't know anyone who has decided to buy it. In some ways, I think they tried to appeal to too broad of an audience, and didn't really hit any one of them solidly. The commercial I saw had classical music, Nintendo theme songs, and 60s rock all intermingled.

Did you get to play it? I'm really curious to hear from someone who had first hand experience, so if you did, please let us know! I'd like to know how the gameplay works. Thanks.

Was it that the music sucked or the control system was weird or the gameplay wasn't fun? Just wondering specifically what made it suck so bad.

It was no fun. Basically, you were the conductor of an orchestra and all you did was wave your arm around with the remote like you would be waving the baton in an orchestra. The music selection was also crappy.

OH MY GOD. This game is a steaming pile of s**t. It's genuinely the worst Nintendo product I've ever seen, and I held the Wii Zapper in my hands. There's literally nothing to it other than "shake the controller spastically." You can shake it in time with the rhythm if you want, or sometimes you have to hit buttons spastically. Either way, you have almost no useful effect on the music itself, and the music itself is MIDI crap. The setlist sucks, but even within a terrible setlist, everything sounds like crap.
Horrible in every way. Aggressively, brutally awful. I did not find a single redeeming quality in the game AT ALL.
