Sprint releases Android 2.1 update for HTC Hero

The only reason this took entirely too long to release was that the leaked rom was rooted almost instantly and Sprint demanded that HTC make the new rom unrootable in direct contradiction to the open source license included with the Android OS phones. I have a HTC Hero and love it. I will not be upgrading to the official 2.1 update from Sprint as I will continue to use custom rom's that allow me to do as I wish on the device instead of being constrained to do only as the carrier wishes.
