Spore's system requirements

As someone, like a lot of people I know, who gravitated towards platform games and away from PC games, and towards Apple and away from Windows at the same time, I'm really sad about the system requirements for Spore. I've been looking forward to this game for years, and never dreamed that my "quite powerful enough for me thank you very much" Apple laptop wouldn't make the grade to play it.
