This is all well and good but I think the Wii has already proven that all the potential innovation in the world can't twist the arm of developers and get them to create new, interesting titles.

History repeats: has everyone already forgotten the Power Glove and U-Force? Just make some games that don't suck.

Perhaps I'm being a pessimist, but I think this will do about as well as the network port on the PS2. It's too little too late. Now, for what ever comes after the PS3, like the network port, I think it has a good chance at success

Its just pointless... the Wii succeeded at getting a lot of people who wouldn't usually play games to play a bunch of titles which aren't much of games... but as a platform for gaming (in the sense of "for people who actually play games"), it has yet to show anything.

I actually think this is a potentially apt comparison. Surprsingly enough, SOCOM was one of the most-played online console games of the last generation (sure, it helped that the PS2 had like a gajillion more users than any other platform). So, with this, given that support is not required by 3rd party, we'll likely see one or two extremely successful games... then nothing. (Same thing happened with the EyeToy as well.)

I thought the sixaxis/dual shock 934983743 was already a motion-sensing controller. ??

It can sense tilt, but it can't sense position.
