So, the new screen diminishes the battery life, and Sony's response: Buy a bigger battery! What if I want a game system whose screen is protected, whose features are easy to use, whose games don't suffer from astonishingly long load times, and whose games aren't stripped-down, poorly-controlling ports of PS2 games? I suppose then I'll just buy a DS.

In all seriousness, I like my PSP, but Sony needs to really learn how to deal with some basic PR problems, or they're going to just keep saying really stupid stuff that pisses people off.

So, memo to Sony: One of the HUGE, almost insurmountable advantages the DS has over you is battery life, and the fact that it can sleep for weeks without draining its battery. Portable systems are *often* left for weeks without use, because the player isn't in a situation where they're able to play on a portable consistently.

I OFTEN pick up my DS after two months, and it's ready to play. The PSP is always dead. Dead as a doornail. Sure, it's ready to go a couple hours later, but a couple hours later, I'm already out of the house, on my way to whereever it was I was going.

On long trips, I take the DS because there's simply MUCH less chance I'll get caught out without power. The PSP's two biggest problems are load times and batteries.
