My digital camera isn't that high in megapixel.

It seems like the only options for a camera phone are these ridiculously high-mp sensors that produce horribly noisy pictures, or crap-quality 2-5 mp sensors that are merely tacked on so the phone will have a camera. I wish someone would produce a decent 3-4mp sensor for cell phones. The technology exists, but when cell phone manufacturers push their high-end camera phones I guess the market dictates that the higher number wins. No one prints 8x10s of their pictures taken with a camera phone, and no one wants to send 4mb 4000x3000 jpgs of the funny street sign they saw on the way to work over MMS.
I can't wait for megapixels to go the way of the XX-bit did in the video game industry. These 7+ mp portable sensors and 10+ mp camera sensors really are the Atari Jaguars of the digital photo world.

I actually had one of those Jaguars. I could play any game that was out at the time. I loved it. But I agree with your post.
