I can't see Blu-Ray being as pervasive as DVD. I think that in the end, digital distribution will undercut Blu-Ray's market saturation.
So, Sony's scored sort of a Pyrrhic victory in their fight with HD-DVD. Given how much they've spent on the format, I can't imagine they're going to make their money back.
That said, when Blu-Ray won the format war, there was a distinct uptick in PS3 sales. Just like when the PS2 came out, and DVD drove initial PS2 sales, Blu-Ray may just sll enough to jumpstart the PS3. God knows the games don't do that yet (with a small number of notable exceptions (MGS4 for some, Uncharted)).
