Rock Band Warranty Restrictions Temporarily Loosened

It's nice to see EA/Harmonix keep their warranty open (at least temporarily) past the 60 day mark. We bought Rock Band when it launched, and have so far had to replace two guitars, the drum pads, and our bass drum pedal recently broke.

While the only defective items were the original launch guitars, the bass pedal simply has a design flaw - too much stress at certain locations on the pedal causes it to eventually break. Yeah, we've used the CRAP out of it (I'd guess 80+ hours minimum so far, probably well over 100), but having to buy a 3rd party metal pedal plate is sort of a bummer.

Let's hope RB2's peripherals are a little beefier. Awesome game, though - the best in-person multiplayer game ever made.

I wonder how long they can keep this up... People must be banging the hell out of their instruments.

I know I am! When I play the drums, I kinda lose it and start beating it up pretty badly. I think that's part of the fun though. I realize that many people who are apartment/condo-dwellers don't really appreciate that -- in fact, many people end up buying muffling pads or modding the kit themselves -- but when you live in a standalone house, it kicks ass to wail on the drums at 2 in the morning! :D

I haven't played in over a week and am suffering withdrawals. My goal is to complete the medium tour on drums by fall.
