I have heard this thing is great

"Move over, IPhone . You've had two years on top of the smart phone world. Now there's a touch-screen phone with better software: the Palm Pre.

Yeah, too bad it's only currently available on the world's worst cell phone network: Sprint.
When the phone finally moves over to Verizon (or, maybe, AT&T . . . which would be interesting), then I'll be interested.

Looks like it was built to be a handheld game system for old style Nintendo games. ;-) The news article wasn't very informative and slightly misleading in ways. The iPhone is capable of running more than one at once but they chose to not allow it. The article though, made it sound like you don't get notifications on the iPhone, which is incorrect. Overall the article was very biased in Palms favor. Of course the iPhone doesn't do everything this new device does at the moment of its release. If it did, it would be pretty sad to be releasing it 2 years later. They fail to mention all the things that the iPhone can do that this one can't however. If we counted them all up, I'm fairly certain there would be a lot more in favor of the iPhone than the other way around. I'm glad it at least touched on the fact that developers are going to be important. The iPhone closely matches development skills used to code for OsX, so they have no shortage and I don't know any who are going to want to switch from a touch screen environment to this thing that has a smaller user base. Good luck to them though, competition is always good and I was hoping to see something that just blew me away.

Well said. In addition, background processing will be expanded in version 3.0 for iPhone, or so I've heard.
