Article excerpt from techradar.com — "Want to know something crazy? Nintendo announced not one, but two new Mario games and the return of Metroid and still came a distant third in the battle of the big three's keynotes at this year's wonderful E3. The entire exhibition has been in a self-imposed doldrum for a couple of years, but E3 2009 has been a fabulous return to form,...

Nintendo's E3 press conferences have been horrible for, like, 3 years running. Why should they change that now?

I think it doesn't really matter much for Nintendo because, statistically and presumably speaking, the fattest chunk of their fanbase or at least customer-base probably doesn't even know what e3 is, or at least lacks interest in it.

Stick with what you know right? Holy shit that would've been awesome to see the beatles...and a Beatles Rock Band? That's going to be insane. I recently played Guitar Hero Metallica, and I was floored by it. Just unbelievable.

Entirely true. They still need to get off their innovative asses and actually make some games, not just nifty toys.

I think MS totally swept up, with Project Natal blowing the pants off Nintendo's weird biomonitor thingamabob, and with The Beatles: Rock Band intro. Even though it's not a 360-exclusive, they totally made it seem like it was their cake, and they were gonna eat it.

I'm pretty excited about managing my Netflix queue via 360 instead of using my computer too. Heh.

What was the order of press conferences? Did Nintendo go last? Watching them claim the wiimotion thing was the "next step" was quite lulzy after seeing MS and Sony.

Not to mention she sounded like she was lecturing, not presenting.

I agree. Seems they're more interested in putting out shiny game systems than keeping people entertained.Kirby pinball and paperboy were fun and all, but after that I just kinda lost interest. ADHD, I guess.
