Yes, I understand that the BMI is inaccurate. However, the concept behind this anger is just... yeah in my opinion. Honestly, is clouding the truth and telling everyone that they are "unique and precious... oh but you conform to our idealistic standards" much better than telling them in neutral terms? Sure, for now they'll feel good, but morale and esteem will be at an all time low if they think nothing but the highest of themselves throughout their lives.

Now, I'm not saying we should go around at tell flat out, blunt truths to people. I'm saying we shouldn't get mad at something telling the truth in a neutral tone nor tell lies that conform people to standards that only come back to them later on as a smack to the face and the inability to get over a now much greater impact on esteem. Plus, learning to get over things like this is a large portion of life and infact is what character can be arguably defined as.

If they are using the game already for bmi, then they are at least most likely doing the Wii Fit exercises as well, which is a step up.

While I'm not against informing overweight children that they are, in fact, overweight, I think that using adult BMI charts for children is a pretty big slip on Nintendo's part.
