ThanksMK says,
Umm..."important" guy what are you even talking about. Exclusives are very important in the console race. You even said it,

"Now Sony makes its own games for the [PS3] console, we make our own games for the [Xbox 360] console. The titles are exclusive, as they are also attempts [to] turn out the best of the console, but someone like Electronic Arts or Activision can have a business model of rarely developing for a console exclusively. Therefore, the exclusive title is a little less important." - Important Guy

What?!?!? Okay I'm just using him to start this thread. I know he's referring to third parties and how maybe it's less important for them to make an exclusive title (arguing cost vs benefits) but I disagree. Console maker's could make incentives for this...Did people not buy a shitload more copies of GTA 4 for the 360 then the PS3 because of its exclusive DLC content? How about people buying the PS3 version of Soul Caliber 4 because they wanted to whoop ass with Vader instead of Yoda on the 360? Exclusives are important period, then why have three different consoles? There's got to be a variable that shifts the tide, there's only so much 1st party can run with before it gets repetitive. (Nintendo is on a whole different level but you can see the symptoms in their Mario Party franchise games). What I'm saying is that 1st party / console makers has got to reach to other developers for exclusives, there's so much more creativity, ideas, concepts that's out there then what they have in their own pool of resources. ...end rant.

Article excerpt from kotaku.com — "Germany's Xbox 360 product manager Boris Schneider-Johne slightly mehs exclusives. They are so not important. While exclusives were more important in the 1980s and 1990s, he says, they are not anymore. Explains Schneider-Johne: What we see today is that the influence of exclusive titles on the sales curves becomes ever smaller... In...

Yeah, the notion that exclusives aren't important is just stupid. I happen to have a 360, but if I didn't, and I was trying to choose between a PS3 and a 360, I'd look at what titles one system had that the other didn't, then which other features were useful and which system multiplatform titles worked better on.

So, I might tally up Blu-Ray in the PS3's favor, but Live in the 360's favor. Then for multiplatform, since Live affects the online experience in any game WITH an online experience, the multiplatform nod goes to MS.

But the exclusive titles are the *first* and most important decision point. When the PS3 gets the Team ICO games, that's going to be a huge motivator to get the console. The only existing motivators for me are Uncharted, a fistful of the PSN games, and to a lesser degree, Metal Gear Solid 4.

And look at that! All exclusive titles!

and as indication of said i.q. droppage, you're embarrassingly broadcasting incorrect grammar all over the place via your headline.

It was a trivial mistake, probably a typo, and was backed up with a well-articulated comment. I don't think that was worth being insulting.
