I kind of love the cute little guy in the article pic though. I am a sucker for cute little characters, at least as a bait. The not-yet-game-just-a-survey-sure-right-ok needs to have something to back it up, but throw out a cute character, and I'll at least take a first look and give it a chance, so in that way, they've tapped into something smart.

One of the failings of the survey is that it ignores that users often don't know what they want. People are often savvy enough to know what they like when they are interacting with it, but often don't have the vocabulary or mindset to speak about the user interaction model to someone else. This can extend to even as simple things as "what do you like". In personal finance (something else I follow like a crazy person), you often see surveys or interviews with individuals who claim that they want to have greater savings and are ready to make changes, yet when you present concrete, feasible plans to save money without drastically changing their quality of life, even with that last caveat, people balk.

Saying you'd be interested in a Halo arcade game in theory doesn't translate necessarily into sales or even actual interest, even if you really think you'll be interested.

the lego halo dude is sweetah! i would so play the lego'd version of it. by no means am I comparing it to the original suite of 3. but its still fun.

I wouldn't mind seeing extensions of the franchise - Halo Wars looks awesome. The LEGO Halo guy is from an EGM April Fool's article, though.

Still, weird thing: You can *already* play a Halo-themed racing game in Halo. Their rules are flexible enough that there are already dozens of different racing variants. It retains the weird vehicle controls from Halo, but if you made a racing game in the Halo universe and you *didn't* retain those controls, people would cry foul.

I wouldn't mind seeing non-Master Chief related storylines in the Halo universe. They've managed to create a pretty interesting mythology even apart from the Master Chief - it'd be nice to see the events of the Halo games from a different perspective. The only problem is, MC was pretty much the crux of all the major events in the Halo universe.

Playing as someone who's basically inconsequential might be weird.

Well if you've read the Ghost of Onyx, then I'd want a non-MC game very much. The cliffhanger has GOT to lead somewhere, whether it be another novel or a new game. Halo wars DOES have my approval, though.

Or they could do something with the battlescene in the Believe commercials for the 3rd. That series of commercials has extreme emotional impact that just got wasted. I mean come on :/
