It's a shame. I borrowed God of War: Chains of Olympus from a friend. Ready at Dawn really knew how to milk the system - that and Daxter were (even though I *despise* Daxter, the character) the best games on the system bar none. Stuff like Patapon is interesting, but the system just feels dead. No one's releasing anything interesting on it, it's difficult to use (that analog stick is worse than the 360's D-pad), and the load times are awful (though the newer hardware is apparently better).
Worse, the other functions of the PSP are incredibly difficult and unintuitive to use. It's a system that can DO a whole lot, but doesn't actually make doing any of it pleasurable or easy.

The thing is, it's still *really* healthy in Japan. Wii, DSi, and PSP are the only systems that are really pushing any units. The problem in Japan, though, is that something like 50% of software sales are attributed to Monster Hunter games o_O

. The free games are nice but all the other options from movie players, ebook readers and so forth make it a solid hit. 199 for a portable player isnt bad when it has built in wifi!
