Poor DreamCast, I'll never forgive Sony for it's immense over hyping of the PS2 that killed the Dreamcast.

PS2 was the bomb dude, it wasn't the hype that killed sega, it was a superior system.

I'm sorry to spoil your disillusions, but the Dreamcast sales tanked long before the PS2 launched because games for the system were being represented with the full motion video for the most part and not gameplay graphics. The PS2 did not live up to the hype, even a little bit. PS2 was on par with the Dreamcast in graphics capability, it in no way blew it out of the water, not to mention the immense library of top grade games that accompanied it by the time the PS2 did launch. It was a very dirty trick.

I don't even know how to respond to this ludicracy! But I'm going to try!
PS2 didn't live up to the hype? Have you been living on the moon? Are you high? The system is still rocking face!
Yeah, maybe PS2 wasn't released before dreamcast sank, but that just means PSone sank it! It sure as hell wasn't nintendo that decapitated sega out of ever making a console agian... And as we all know PS2 is every thing PSone was and more. It was the first system that I HAD to buy a bigger TV to do it justice.
Hell, I am STILL playing my PS2, it had THE best games on it, ever! ... I don't even know where I'm going with this! PS2 rocked face, and when you say PS2 didn't live up to the hype I am so blown away by that statement the only thing I can think is; "Is this guy from the moon?"

Do you remember Ridge Racer FMV before PS2 launch with a hot Asian chick, and an old man with TONS or wrinkles that looked like it was this current gen graphics? They were all very hush hush about if it was gameplay or prerendered FMV. This HYPE that the PS2 did not live upto KILLED the DreamCast sales.

And yes the PS2 was a horrid machine that was very difficult to program for, if it hadn't been for it's high sales out of the gate from the "over uber hyping" the PS2 would have been left to rot in the dust.

You can say it's a great system all you want, that's your opinion and you're welcome to it, but it's a fact that the PS2 was overhyped and KILLED the DreamCast with pre-launch BS FMV.

You would be one of the few that had a PS2 for 10 years that didn't break down, most did within 4 years. And the horrid part was about it's architecture not so much it's durability.

Now I know you are definitely not from this world. I don't know anyone who owned a playstation and had one break down with in five. And I'm sure if I started writing down names I could EASILY think of 50 people who owned or still own a PS2.
Next thing you are going to tell me is that you have an Xbox that lasted more 2years!
I want some of what ever you are smoking!

Never owned an Xbox, but my old room mate had one and his didn't break down, traded it in when he got his 360.

I worked at a Game Crazy the system that got brought in the most was the PS2. I think we got 3 Xboxs a few months after launch and then nothing, one of them wasn't even broken we put demos on it and sat it in the corner.
