helava says,
I had mixed feelings about Stubbs the Zombie - a lot of reviewers really loved it, but I thought it was really poorly put together. A bunch of good ideas whose execution was mediocre at best. Still, the game was charming and weird, and tried to be something different, which was awesome.

With HttC, it seems like Wideload is doing something different again, and it's pretty relevant given the current state of politics. But this time, it's something different that keeps me wondering whether I'm going to like this game or not. Their publisher, Gamecock, is aggressive about their marketing to the point of being really off-putting.

At a recent videogame awards ceremony, Gamecock's execs rushed the stage during Ken Levine (Bioshock)'s acceptance speech, and as a result, he basically got to say nothing. It was in incredibly poor taste, and it'd be bad enough if it was their only awful stunt. But this is pretty par for the course for these guys, and as much as I'd like to support Wideload (developers of HttC), I have a hard time stomaching the notion of giving my money to the Gamecock chowderheads. :

When you say, "rushed the stage," are you saying a group of guys mobbed the stage and pushed the other people off? Wow, that is in incredibly poor taste...

Yeah. Jumped on stage during the acceptance speech for Game of the Year, and basically made it so Levine never got a chance to thank anyone. Just about the most obnoxious thing I'd ever heard of.
