I hope that SR2 contains some of the fun that was sucked out of GTA.
I'm still pissed that GTA4 got such high ratings. Sure, production values through the roof, and an immersive, open world on a scale that no one else has even come close to attempting. But as much stuff as there is in it, the world feels lifeless and flat, simply because it's lost its charm in exchange for realism.
And the controls sucked.
I never played the original Saint's Row, but have some friends who really enjoyed it. The commercials for SR2 definitely make it clear that they didn't lose the notion that yeah, it's a sandbox - play in it.

LMFAO@ at how all The SR2 talk was nothing but that...talk. I was amused the 1st day I saw this 1 video on YouTube about SR2 and how they were attemping to knock on GTA IV. It's a fun lil game but that's about it. I agree with how others say how IV took some fun out of what was in San Andreas which is my favorite game ever pretty much, but still...
