My laptop is ready to go about 2.5 seconds after you hit the power button (running Vista no less), but that's not actually booting up the computer.
I have a feeling Google is having "AOL Top Speed" syndrome -- remember that? Where AOL claimed to "speed up" your internet connection by doing nothing but keeping a running cache of the sites you visited?
By the way, the only thing the world needed more than another web browser no one uses is another OS no one uses, way to go Google!
