Gears of War 2: Skorge in multiplayer, no PC version, rumored map remakes
Ignastius says,
This ought to upset online multiplayers, I don't play co-op online, but for those who do, I found this article on JoyStiq and I was not surprised, but to restrict online playing for the PC? Man, that really sucks. I want this game for my PC and yes, this one also the sequel to Gears of War...
Article excerpt from joystiq.com —
"We've got quite a bit of Gears Of War 2 information and rumors, so let's begin, shall we? The Skorge (pictured) -- a towering, 12-foot beast with dual chainsaw staff in campaign -- will be playable in multiplayer, albeit very scaled down, according to an interview with Cliff Bleszinski at AddictGaming (via X3F)...."

God I hate 3rd person shooter's. Any game that turn's situational awarness into an obnoxious chore at all times should be incinerated.

Well, u can change the camera in the control configurations, can't u? And that way, u can have a FPS...

No, you can't change to a 1st person perspective in GoW. It would change the game completely.
I actually like 3rd person shooters more than 1st person - yeah, to old schoolers I'm sure that's heresy - but it gives the player more information - stuff that they'd have in the real world - an awareness of where their feet are, peripheral vision, etc.
Mirror's Edge is the only game I've played so far (well, Breakdown, on the original xbox as well) that really successfully conveys the experience of being in 1st person as well as a 3rd person game does...

Well, I like the third person shooter for games like GTA and um Tombraider and MYST and um, Alone in the dark 4: A new nightmare. By the way, did I ever mention that at the end of that game I cried? Yeah, I got emotional when Eden Shaw dies...

damn, I fergot about GTA. That did work fairly well... until you tried to aim the M16 and then the game resorted to the same failed mechanic that 99% of other 3rd person shooter's resort to in fire fights.

yeah, you can see where your feet are. But controlling the camera becomes an obnoxious chore during even the meakest of confrontation's.
Infact, I'm going to say that in GoW, getting the camera to behave was THE most difficult part of the game in certain senerio's. I can specifically remember the hardest time I had beating GoW2 was when I was in cover and I caught a glimps of some steroid enduced subterrainian mongliod running behind me. I had to unlock from cover, get the computer to comprehend what little information I wanted to convey to him, and I had enough time to unload a full magazine, reload and fire off half another before I could even get the camera in a position where I could finally aim. And it took less time to type a discription of this tedious, obnoxious procedure than it did to execute in game. THAT is why I pray 3rd person shooter's will fail the test of time and be looked back on as a stupid trend.
Oh and I love when you aim and your charector takes up 1/2 of your screen and there for 1/2 of your situational awarness, or when you and the camera get crammed into some closet and then Leon Kennedy's new hair style is taking up 100% of the screen. Or how about when I'm straffing in a fire fight and a bush comes inbetween me and the camera and takes up every square inch of the television, because that's totally what I should be looking at in the middle of a heated fire fight... a bush!

Sorry for the rant, I'm just butt hurt about what they did with Resident Evil.

Yeah, I had to use the sniper rifle in the um last Salvatore Leone mission in GTA 3. And in some of the last Yakuza mission when the fire fight was at the Dam, against the Cartel and Catalina. Hey, I was wondering, has anyone ever played the GTA series by the Datelines. I mean, like Vice City first, San Andreas Second and GTA 3 last? I would do like that but, now use GTA first and the other afterwards...

Yeah, I know what you are saying, I played Far Cry on the demo for the PC, and when I was squadded down to use the sniper, the bobbing was nearly impossible to shoot anyone with it, so I had to get a short range gun and go up to my targets and nail them like that. But in GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas, the Sniper held steady, and also in every other FPS I have...

Yeah, the original can't be played on the PC anymore. My platform is too high for the demo. If I could find a demo for it?

I'm telling you, get a PS2. I picked up Resident Evil one two and three for under thirty dollar's.

R u serious? That is so cool, well, I think I have a game for ya, that will just make u run to the bathroom and want to vomit: PREY. Now I played the demo and I thought I was gonna be sick, I could smell the flesh, and feel the cold wet blood and taste the foulness in the air... Sheesh, that thing plays great on PC...
