DICE underestimated Console gamers experience and ability
Anonymous says,
It seems they thought PC gamers were more advanced and Console gamers were slow on the uptake. Wrong, I do both and I am sure most gamers do.

" Battlefield developer DICE learned several lessons from its first significant foray into console gaming with last year's Battlefield : Bad Company, not the least of which was to never underestimate the skill level of console gamers.
"I think one of our biggest mistakes with Battlefield : Bad Company.. was that when we started making it,...

Okay, after reading this, I hate DICE. I've always thought their games were okay (not fantastic, but definately worth a look), but knowing that they thought so little of console gamers when they made BF: Bad Company . . . well, that answers a lot of questions I had regarding the quality of Bad Company, that's for sure.

I loved BF: Bad Company - the only thing that really sucked about it was that they'd break up your party to balance teams, which was incredibly stupid and frustrating. But the game itself? Fantastic.

I had a good time playing the Bad Company demo. After that i lost interest but it was fun while it lasted.

There were many problems with the game, although I agree with you that it was a good game (not Call of Duty 4 good, but still pretty good).
My fundamental problem with the game was that it actively prevented me from playing with my friends. Playing with my friends is the reason WHY I play online. I don't like playing with strangers. So, while the CONTENT in Bad Company was good, I was constantly irritated by the IMPLEMENTATION of that content. Let me party up with my friends. Don't split me up from my friends.
Reading that DICE thought I was -- in effect -- an idiot helps me realize why they made these stupid decisions. Where they thought they were doing me a favor, they were actually pissing me off.
And don't even get me started on the logic behind why I can snipe a tree in HALF with one bullet but that same sniper rifle cannot shoot through a wooden fence to kill a guy on the other side. Or, more to the point, why I can snipe a tree in half with one shot but my snipes against a human (even an kevlar-wearing one) take multiple hits before I get a kill.

I dunno, have a conversation with a few Halo or GoW fans and you might understand their misconception, hahaha. Surely, I kid... go talk to a Counter-Strike fan.
It's kinda funny, though it would be more applicable if it weren't 2009. Console gaming has come a long way in popularity and you are quite right, many devoted PC gamers have gotten more into consoles as well.
Personally I will ever prefer my shooters with a mouse and keyboard though, much to the chagrin of my local friends, I've become a dead-eye with those stupid analog sticks as well :)
