Demigod Review Postponed on Account of Game Don't Work
helava says,
Stardock's been really brave to release their games without DRM in the hopes of not pissing off legitimately paying customers. The downside, though, in this case, is that a massive glut of thieves have crushed their servers, making the game simply not work for legitimate users.
That sucks. But it does go to show that basically, the thieves are liars. They protest DRM, but then steal the game anyway. The company listens, releases the game without DRM, and they steal it anyway. It's not a matter of principles, or standing up for something. It's just a bunch of selfish jerks being selfish jerks.
And yeah, many years I was a selfish jerk as well, until I realized how much work goes into making a game, and how devoted people are in the industry to making awesome new stuff, only to have it ripped off by a bunch of people who think stealing this stuff is somehow morally justified.
Feh.
Good luck to Stardock. If Demigod or Sins of a Solar Empire ever came out on console, I'd be first in line.

I need to do more to support this company. At least I don't steal their games, but I seriously need to start buying their games, even if I don't play them.
