BombTrack says,
I am not hating on Christian games, but sorry....I just think this is lame. The reason why kids want to play GTA and Guitar Hero is the coolness factor as well as the game itself.

Article excerpt from kotaku.com — "The Christian set has a message-filled, re-skinned Doppelganger of almost every form of entertainment these days. The most recent, relevant to our interests? Guitar Praise : Solid Rock, the Guitar Hero knockoff with a positive message from Digital Praise, maker of all things fun and biblically inspired...."

How do you figure that? The heap we're in now isn't a result of religion or lack thereof. If anything, it's a result of people being apathetic and disengaged from the world around them.

I'm sure I'm gonna continue to get Power Downs, but oh, well.

*Why* do you say that? Bush is a pretty devout Christian, from what I understand, and he's basically the reason that we're in Iraq. Our country, statistically, is overwhelmingly Christian. By some sources, 85% of people identify themselves as Christians.

But more than that, the implication is that areligious people are somehow responsible for this mess, and that's just not the case.

I found your comments offensive and inappropriate for the website. I figured that would be a given.

Your posts haven't addressed whether GTA's gameplay could work under a Christian setting. All you've said was that we'd be better off if we were Christians.

Yes, that would have been an appropriate comment for the discussion but it was already implied in the article.

Hey everyone, this is just an administrative note: in general, power downs and power ups are used to indicate agreement or disagreement to a specific statement, so if you disagree with something a person said, it is perfectly valid to use it at will. As pointed out, it is appreciated when a reason is given, but it is not necessary -- a person can simply agree or disagree with a statement, without it being a personal attack.

I graduated with a degree in videogame art +design.

I think it is easily possible to make a GTA Christian version.

I mean, you can run around helping people rather than hurting them.

It can be stimulating to the imagination but one example would be. You fight evil people with good deeds.
You find the hidden story why this person is doing these actions and figure out how you can stop the evil at its roots.

You can also have it as spiritual warfare where you have a character who can see deep inside the person and see the demonic influences that affect their decisions and then find a way to weaken the spirits. You can then summon spiritual weapons etc. Anti demon bazooka ! Where it hits the spirit rather than the NPC that you are shooting..

Anyway, of course theres more stuff to add, but just showing how easily possible it is. And these are just stuff I thought of while typing, I can come up with much more if I have more time to design it from the bottom up.

People just lack imagination now a days..
