ebeast says,
He was such a big fan of Sonic that he wanted to get a hedgehog THEN fought the law when it turned out Kansas law forbade owning hedgehogs as pets. I think it's awesome that an 11 year old (unclear if this was his age when he started the 3 year process or when the law got overturned) was so motivated that he worked hard to do this, with his mom's help, of course.

At the same time, the article rightly points out the strangeness of forbidding hedgehog ownership in the first palce. WTF? Maybe a hedgehog once killed someone's mom/dad.

Yay for Sonic love! :D

Article excerpt from nintendoeverything.com — "11 year-old Judson King, after becoming a Sonic the Hedgehog follower, decided that he desired his own hedgehog. Why's that? I mean, Sega's re-released the originals enough so that he's probably played them :P

That being said, I think it's cool that the kid fought to have the pointless law overturned... but the part about the article that bugged me was that the mom said her "out" was that it was illegal. As if she couldn't simply say, "No, you can't have one."

Parents are all spineless these days. They'd rather be friends with their kids than be the authority. It's why 11 year olds get copies of GTA IV for their birthdays.
