There's a whole lot of people "defending" BC - that games used to be hard, and if you don't like it, STFU. But those people are stupid. Period.
Games should be intuitive. They should be accessible. If you want your games to be difficult, that doesn't have to come at the expense of intuitive accessibility - that comes from creating difficult situations that challenge you *despite* your game being intuitive and accessible.
That the guy demoing the game condescendingly told the guy the controls were "skill-based," and that somehow made up for the fact that dozens of people have reported difficulty using the controls is really worrisome, because it shows that they're too close to the game, and can't acknowledge when something isn't working right.
And the guy sounds like a dick.
