Activision: DJ Hero's 'diversity' key in attracting 'Hero' newcomers

This is a load of crap. I played the demo station of DJ Hero at a Gamestop this weekend, and what I can tell you is quite simple - DJ Hero is an incomprehensible mess of a game. Its controls are utterly impenetrable, require not only multiple simultaneous actions, but for the player to be watching all three tracks simultaneously to perform completely different, yet precise inputs with two separate hands...
There's no way that 'diversity' is going to attract newcomers enough that they'll spend the time to learn the ridiculous controls. Beatmania worked because it was trivial to understand. DJ Hero is complex enough that it's only going to appeal to seasoned gamers, and given that Guitar Hero's appeal is in its accessibility (and effectiveness as a party game), DJ Hero is going to fail.
It may succeed because Activision's going to market the bejeezus out of it, but while there will be a Guitar Hero 6 next year, I'll be really surprised if there's a DJ Hero 2.
